What’s the difference between Similac 360 Total Care and Similac 360 Total Care Made With Whole Milk?
The difference is we’ve added creamy whole milk to Similac 360 Total Care Made With Whole Milk to have a fat blend more like the fats in breast milk. Similac 360 Total Care has the same key features, such as 5 added prebiotics, but does not include whole milk.
Is Similac 360 Total Care going to be discontinued?
Similac 360 Total Care is not being discontinued. Only the 32 fl oz ready-to-feed bottle of Similac 360 Total Care is being discontinued and replaced with Similac 360 Total Care Made With Whole Milk 32 fl oz ready-to-feed bottles. Similac 360 Total Care powder and 2fl oz and 8 fl oz ready-to-feed will continue to be available.
What is the benefit of whole milk vs. non-fat milk?
Manufacturers may add whole or skim (non-fat) milk to infant formula to provide a source of milk protein for babies. Milk-based infant formulas made with whole or skim milk have been shown to support normal growth and are tolerated by most infants. The difference is that infant formulas made with whole milk have part of their fat content supplied as milkfat, while skim milk-based infant formulas do not. Regardless of which type of milk is used, both require addition of oils to supply essential fats, such as linoleic fatty acids. All infant formulas, whether made with whole, skim milk, or both, must undergo a rigorous review process by the FDA before hitting the shelves.
